Escapade Ecotours was founded in 2004 to provide West Australians, interstate and international visitors and corporate clients with an unprecedented five star luxury sailing experience. We chose our catamaran Escapade for exploring the clear, clean waters off the Western Australian coastline with its spectacular scenery, natural wonders and abundant sea life as it best matched our environmentally friendly goal.
Sailing boats are better for the environment as motion power is provided by the wind rather than engines, a silent, zero pollution means of travelling through the ocean and having close encounters with its inhabitants. For example, dolphins often swim between the hulls and congregate, swimming around the two bows of the boat, only metres away from our guests on the expansive forward deck.
Our vessel Escapade is a purpose built luxury catamaran ensuring a smoother, more stable sailing experience for our guests. The yacht a ‘Seawind 1200’ spans 12 metres in length and is six metres wide, designed, engineered and created to enable blue water cruising in safety, comfort and style.
In the summer months, we operate out of the Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour sailing off the coast of Perth, in Cockburn Sound, to Rottnest, Carnac and Garden islands providing sailing tours and private charters in summer from November to May.
Then we sail north and June to October we are based 800 miles away in the tropical waters of the Dampier Archipelago with its pristine 42 islands where we offer a range of tours and charters in what is arguably the best coastal area in Western Australia.
In both locations, Escapade Ecotours holds commercial tour operator licences for whale, seal and dolphin interactions from the Western Australian Department of Environment and Conservation.
