One thing we learned on our family trip to Lithgow is that anything can happen in the Blue Mountains! Keep in mind that mountain weather can change quickly so pack accordingly.   While in Lithgow we stayed at the beautiful Majic Views Bed and Breakfast. More like our own little apartment than a normal B&B, this lovely place boasts two bedrooms and a massive spa with views that truly are majestic. The girls loved running around on the lush green grass and playing with Janda, the resident friendly black Labrador.   Our first stop was a trip to the glow worm tunnel and our kids loved the drive through the dark rock tunnel as it wound through the mountain. Bronte Cottage, Bygone Beautys Cottages 78-80 Genevieve Road Bullaburra NSW     Set at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, you drive through lush green gardens and abundant foliage and then come upon the white, French provincial-style Bronte cottage. Statues flank the low steps to the front door and the interior of the house strikes you as being very luxurious, with beautiful living space, extensive floor-to-ceiling windows and an abundance of light. Overall rating?      Excellent What makes Lurline House different? The federation-style house is 99 years old and has that indefinable sense of history and place that makes it feel completely at home in the Blue Mountains. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. Accommodation overview There are 7 bedrooms, all with ensuites and five of those rooms are spacious spa rooms.  All the rooms have four-poster beds with canopies and the furniture is exactly right for a property that is nearly 100 years old. Cosy up in the Blue Mountains Ambleside, Malvern Rd, Leura, Blue Mountains, NSW Ambleside is a delightful little cottage set amongst a well groomed and sunny garden in Leura. Arriving at the cottage with a wood fire already set and burning and information packs aplenty, not to mention the host’s great local briefing, we felt it was just what we needed for our weekend getaway in the Blue Mountains. Within close proximity to a variety of bushwalks, we chose to walk from the Solitary Restaurant to Echo Point along the clifftops and return along the Dardanelles pass, a 3 hour walk all in all. The sun was still on the garden when we returned, but we chose pre-dinner drinks inside in front of the log fire. A great place to curl up with a book, for a game of cards or a chat. Overall rat...
