The Port MacDonnell Bayside Festival is a community organised family festival held annually on the first Sunday in January (except New Years Day) on the Port MacDonnell foreshore attracting 8,000 people. There are 60 sites offering food, children's rides and activities, arts and crafts and great live entertainment throughout the day. Each year the program offers all this plus the traditional favourites including the Fun Run, octopus throw, pie eating competition, Yabbie races, vintage car display and great fun all day. The festival serves to promote Port MacDonnell and surrounding district by featuring local produce, entertainers and novelty events.
