The Antarctic is a truly special place and winter is a magical time in Tasmania - so rug up and join the celebrations!
The Antarctic Midwinter Festival celebrates the historical and living links between Tasmania and the Antarctic. With ten days of exhibitions, performances, tours and social events, you can learn, explore and enjoy the unique connection between our island state and the world's last pristine wilderness.
Most Midwinter Festival events are inside comfortable venues. Outdoor events go ahead in anything but severe weather.
