What makes Anzac Park Homestay different?
The home has been purpose-built to provide luxurious short-term accommodation. Only 10 minutes from Canberra airport and 200 metres from the impressive Australian War Memorial, it is perfectly located to allow guests to make the most of their time in Canberra. It is a lovely quiet area and the hosts make pets truly welcome.
Accommodation overview
There are three bedrooms, the Rose and Chagall Suites each have their own well-appointed ensuite, while a third room has exclusive use of the bathroom. All rooms have queen-size beds, desks, wireless internet connection, TV, tea and coffee-making facilities and plenty of storage. The underfloor heating is a delight on chilly mornings, and there is a selection of well-chosen books in each room. The Rose and Chagall suites are named for their feature walls in provencal colours and the general décor reflects Mercedes’ French heritage. Chocoholics will love the quality complimentary chocolates.
Facilities overview
Two of the rooms open onto the private and secure verandah, while the other opens to a fully fenced back courtyard, large enough for dogs to enjoy a run around or to just lie in the sun. Pets are welcome to sleep on a mat in the corner of the room, and then enjoy the courtyard through the day while their owners are out exploring the nation’s capital. Phil and Mercedes supply a marvellous breakfast of homemade bread, croissants, cereal, jams and preserves and ‘proper’ coffee and tea. Guests who book for a stay of 3 nights or more will also be treated to a delicious three course dinner – with a French flavour, of course.
The common dining area has a lovely atmosphere and there is plenty of information on activities in the local area.
