What makes Matilda’s of Leura different?
The weatherboard cottage looks ‘old world’ but was in fact designed to fit into the established gardens and look as though it has been there for many years. However, this also means that the building has all the modern conveniences you could wish for in holiday accommodation.
Accommodation overview
There are three bedrooms, the spacious loft has its own bathroom and a queen-size bed, there is another bedroom with a queen-size bed and the third bedroom has two singles. This flexible configuration makes Matilda’s perfect for a variety of holiday needs.
Facilities overview
The loft bedroom has a lounge/sitting area, as well as an ensuite with a two-person spa. The Federation-style bathroom downstairs has an antique claw-foot bath and a corner shower, and the heated towel rails ensure the towels are warm and fluffy, whatever the weather outside.
The kitchen is fully equipped and has everything necessary to whip up gourmet meals, if the many fine restaurants in the area don’t tempt you. The owners have thought of your every comfort, including reverse cycle air-conditioning, convection heaters, fans and a gas log fire, which – along with the woollen doonas – will ensure you stay snug on even the chilliest night in the mountains. The cottage also has a laundry and BBQ, and a lovely outdoor setting on the balcony overlooking the tranquil gardens.

Leura is in the heart of the Blue Mountains, only 1.5 hours from Sydney and just over an hour from Bathurst. Matilda’s is a short walk from the heart of Leura village.
