Henry Lawson Drive
Mudgee NSW

We arrived as the sun was setting, and the view across the working vineyard was gorgeous – and matched by the warm welcome from our hosts.

Overall rating?       Outstanding

What makes Kurrara Cottages Retreat different?
The warmth of the welcome – fresh carrot cake helped! – and the sense of peace that envelops you as soon as you arrive. It is one of those places that feel right from the moment you walk through the door..

Accommodation overview
Our cottage had a queen-size bed and was perfect for a romantic getaway. All linen and toiletries are supplied.

Facilities overview
The layout is open plan, with the indoor sunken spa bath and living area accessible from the bedroom area.  There is a small kitchen and French doors lead to the verandah.  The wonderful view of the vineyard can be seen from the spa pool or the bedroom.  The cottage is comfortable whatever the weather, as it is air-conditioned and also has a gas fireplace.

There is a guest laundry, an outdoor picnic area overlooking a small lake and a swimming pool.

Mudgee is in the area known as ‘Explorer Country’ and is about 3.5 hours drive from Sydney.  Kurrara Cottages Retreat are 10 minutes from Mudgee, nestled in a working vineyard.

Couples looking to relax and re-connect and enjoy the luxury and solitude of the property.

Why stay longer?
The best thing about this place was the wonderful feeling of relaxation that descended on us as soon as we arrived. It was lovely to slip into the spa pool and watch the sunset over the vines.  Our favourite thing was to relax in the spa pool while enjoying the view over the vines.  We also had a lovely meal at the Blue Wren Restaurant and the Mudgee Farmer’s Market is a brilliant experience.

Why you wouldn’t stay longer?
I can’t think of a reason you would want to leave – the cottage is relaxing and romantic, Mudgee is close by and there is plenty to do in the surrounding area.  Of course work and family demands may call you back to reality sooner than you would like.

Pricing
Prices range from $190 to 395 per night, depending on size of cottage and facilities.  Check the listing for details.
