Banjo’s House
The
Port Stephens area is well named as a blue water wonderland. The region is so extensive and offers so much choice for visitors that you can be in the hustle and bustle of
Nelson Bay, or chill out in the serenity of
North Arm Cove and environs. There is so much on offer in this region, with its easy access to the waterways of
Hawks Nest and Tea Gardens, the Myall River and Myall Lakes.
One of the hidden gems of North Arm Cove is Banjo’s House, a self-contained home in the tranquil village of Bundabah, with a glorious location on a waterfront reserve, overlooking North Arm Cove Bay, and set in spacious and landscaped grounds.
The right holiday house has to be many things … well appointed, well located and with the right ambience so that walking through the door means walking away from day-to-day life. Banjo’s House ticks all those boxes – and more. The house has broad appeal, with its waterfront location, secure fenced yard perfect for both children and dogs and it is ideal for fishermen and boaties, with access to a private tidal reserve and the chance to leave the dinghy in the yard, and a boat ramp nearby.
However, couples will also enjoy the home, with its quality fittings, gourmet kitchen, cathedral ceilings and expansive views across the bay. The solitude, serenity and spa bathroom are the icing on the cake for a break away with someone special.
The
romantic master bedroom – with a queen-size bed - is in the loft, with all the space and privacy you could wish for, and the second bedroom has a double bed and sliding doors, which open out onto the rear deck, with spectacular views. The third bedroom has two sets of bunk beds.
More and more of us like to take our pets away with us, and the large, securely fenced yard makes it perfect for bringing your furry friend along to join in the fun. It also means that small children can play safely outside, while parents can relax on the deck and keep an eye on the children and the view at the same time. There is gated access to the tidal beach, which is safe for swimming and saves loading the kids in the car and driving to the beach everyday.
If you can tear yourself away from the comforts of Banjo’s House you will be well rewarded with the choice of activities in the area. Just 20 minutes away are the magnificent beaches of Hawk’s Nest, the shops and restaurants of Tea Gardens, and the wineries of the upper Hunter Valley are only a little further afield. Golf courses, the Myall Lakes and plenty of shopping are within easy reach, and it is only a 45-minute drive to the regional hub of Nelson Bay, with all its facilities. Even Newcastle is less than an hour away, for those wanting to spend time in this vibrant and revitalised city.
However it is more likely to be the natural world that takes your fancy as you stay at Banjo’s House, as the region abounds with wildlife including the magnificent white bellied sea eagle and the pods of dolphins that call the Port Stephens waterways home.
Whatever sort of holiday you are looking for, you are bound to find that Banjo’s House offers the perfect place to relax, rejuvenate and re-connect with nature – and one another.
