Review - Yuranga

Yuranga – Aboriginal for ‘extensive view’
Old Adaminaby, Snowy Mountains, NSW

Yuranga is a large, comfortable log house, well situated on Old Adaminaby with expansive lake and countryside views. It is a great place just to chill out, or from where you can gain easy access to the lake and Mt Selwyn ski fields.

What makes Yuranga different?
No matter what the weather, Yuranga caters for it all – sit on the outside deck and swim in the lake in the summer, or cosy up in front of one of the two log fires in wintertime. With a TV in every bedroom and two lounge areas, the house is perfect for extended family or group getaways. Proximity to the lake make this a fisherman’s delight.

Accommodation overview
Three large, bright and clean bedrooms plus a pull-out lounge made up of one queen room, one room with One single and one double, and the third with two double bunks. The double sofa bed is located on the lower level. A shared bathroom, separate toilet with entry off of the laundry, full laundry.
 
Facilities Overview
Yuranga is a fully self contained property with kitchen and full laundry. Even the kitchen has views! There is a large open lounge room with rear projection TV, large corner lounge with recliners, wood fire upstairs plus second TV room and fire downstairs along with a leather lounge as well as TV’s in all bedrooms and over 100 DVD’s and video’s from which to choose – get the picture yet? The large windows wrap around the veranda and help you make the most of the views with a BBQ outside and a carport providing undercover access.

The modern bathroom includes underfloor heating and heated towel rails, and the property has it’s own powerful back up generator.

The telephone is connected and is available to use for local calls, with internet access provided free of charge on a dial up service.

Location
Yuranga is located in the small village of Old Adaminaby, within walking distance to Lake Eucumbene. Old Adaminaby is 10 minutes drive from Adaminaby, which is ½ hour from Mt Selwyn and 40 minutes from Cooma.

Perfect for
Families, groups and extended families.

Favourite things to do
Hanging out, in front of the fire or flying kites and fishing down at the lake.

Suitable for Children: Yes – more TV’s than you could possibly need, fenced deck, close to lake. The downstairs lounge room has PS1, Nintendo and X-Box while upstairs has an X-Box. There are around 30 games for use by guests. With eight controllers and the X-Boxes linked, everybody can play!!

Suitable for Pets: No
Disabled access: No
Smoking: No smoking indoors

? Out of Ski season rates are $125 per night (October to May)
? June and September $250 per night
? July and August $300 per night

Linen and towels are not included however tea towels, Blankets, Doonas, Pillows are supplied.

Why you’d stay longer
Just to chill out, if the kids are having too much fun at the snow, just because.

Why you wouldn’t stay
If you couldn’t handle peace and quiet or you needed instant access to supermarkets, pubs and clubs.
