Review - Yondah Beach House

  • At Yondah Beach House there is a view from every window!

Tucked into the sand dunes of Yorke Peninsula’s ‘shipwreck coast’ is an absolute jewel – Yondah Beach House. This architect-designed home is set in 300 private acres and offers spectacular sea views across rugged limestone cliffs to Kangaroo Island. The winner of the ‘Self-contained’ category in the 2009 TakeABreak Best Places to Stay Awards, this property offers everything you need for a wonderful holiday experience in a glorious location and is only 25 kms from Marion Bay and the stunning Innes National Park.

Stroll from the front steps along the cliff tops and you may see whales or sea lions playing in the surf, or make your way down the cliffs and bask on a perfect sandy beach of your very own. Wander through the pristine mallee scrub and marvel at the range of flowers (including 30 species of orchid), the abundant bird life and the resident kangaroos. You could be forgiven for thinking that you were staying in a national park and yet Adelaide is only three hours away.

Yondah Beach House makes the most of this beautiful and very private setting and the ‘glass wall’ windows and high curved ceilings bring the feeling of space inside. There is no doubt that this is a beach house and the furnishings offer both style and comfort… and there is always that breathtaking view wherever you turn.

Enjoy plump white lounges, digital TV, reverse cycle air-conditioning, books and games, open fire, crisp white linen on the beds, a fully equipped kitchen – everything you need to enjoy your time in this gorgeous location. There are even noodles and snorkels on hand, so you can wander out and explore the nearby rock pools.

There are three bedrooms, two with queen-size beds and the third has two singles. The beds have quality mattresses, electric blankets, woollen quilts and linen and there are fluffy towels in the bathroom, which is equipped with a shower over a deep bath. The kitchen has everything you need: full size fridge, oven/cook top, espresso machine, bread maker, dishwasher, microwave and a pantry full of essentials. There’s also a front-loading washing machine and dryer on hand and there’s an outside shower with hot water so you can wash the sand off before you head inside to relax (this is especially useful if your dog is a keen beach-goer – yes, Yondah is pet-friendly too). There is even satellite broadband, for those who need to stay connected.

If you are looking for a self-contained holiday home, which offers style and seclusion, excellent facilities, privacy, views and the bounty of nature all around… then visit Yondah Beach House and you will see why it was a worthy winner in the 2009 TakeABreak Awards.

  Hi,

Can you please provide me with your tariffs. We are looking for a break but are unsure of how long and this also depends on costs. Also, are you pet friendly? This is not a necessity though.

This would only be for two people.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

Alice Roberts
