Venus Bay Getaways
Venus Bay is a coastal resort on a narrow strip of land with Bass Strait on one side and the sheltered waters of Anderson Inlet on the other. It has a permanent population of around 500 and five wonderful surfing beaches, as well as the safer option of the calm waters of the inlet, for those less adventurous souls.
The town is central to the many natural wonders of the South Gippsland area, including Wilsons Promontory National Park, which is only 40 minutes away, as well as Phillip Island and its famous penguins, and much more. Venus Bay Getaways is nestled on an acre of secluded land, only 300 metres from the wild beauty of the coast.
It is hard to believe that a two-hour car trip from the centre of Melbourne can transport you to this haven of peace, tranquillity and indulgence. Venus Bay Getaways is a very unusual guesthouse, as it offers 4 star AAA rated hotel-style accommodation, but with the personal touch of hosted accommodation. You can choose from four different suites, each with their own charm.
The Oriental King Room features a king-size bed, private ensuite and the comfort of reverse cycle air-conditioning, along with a 32” LCD/DVD and complimentary DVD library, beautiful linen on the bed, toiletries and hairdryer and tea and coffee making facilities. It doesn’t stop there, with a stocked mini bar, fluffy robes and slippers also provided. Wireless internet is also available for those who need to stay connected.
Both the Bali and Ocean Rooms have a queen-size bed, as well as many of the features of the Oriental King Room. Finally there is the African Room – also with a queen-size bed and the features of the other queen rooms, although the LCD screen is slightly smaller, at 26 inches.
The guesthouse itself is a two-storey structure settled into the coastal dunes bordering Cape Liptrap Coastal Park. The upstairs wing is exclusively for guests and as well as the four guest rooms, houses a foyer with tea and coffee making facilities, the DVD library and books and magazines, as well as the Day Spa room and the balcony with the infrared sauna, overlooking the hydrotherapy spa nestled under the Balinese gazebo.
Downstairs is equally well thought out, with the guest lounge room, bar and fully licensed restaurant. All guests receive a welcome drink, and a continental breakfast is included in the tariff, however a delicious and hearty cooked breakfast is also available, for an additional cost. The guest lounge is the perfect place to relax and re-connect with one another… or play a friendly game from the many board games on offer.
Of course, the ultimate indulgence is the Day Spa, which offers relaxing treatments such as deep tissue massage, organic facials, manicures and pedicures and more. Day Spa treatments must be booked prior to arrival and are subject to availability, but can you think of a better way to relax and unwind?
If you can drag yourself away from Venus Bay Getaways, you will be rewarded with glorious coastal scenery, wonderful opportunities for fishing, surfing and windsurfing, abundant bird life, the beauty of the Point Smythe Nature trail and much more.
However Venus Bay Getaways is such a brilliant place to stay, relax and rejuvenate – all without leaving the property, that you just might find it too hard to drag yourself away.
