BIG4 ANGLESEA HOLIDAY PARK, Victoria

Your kids will be spoiled for choice at the BIG4 Anglesea Holiday Park … there is so much to do in the way of children’s activities that they may complain of being too busy! This popular holiday park located in the charming town of Anglesea on the Great Ocean Road in Victoria is a most worthy recipient of TakeABreak’s 2008 national award for best Park Accommodation and a great stopping point on a Great Ocean Road road-trip.

The seaside town of Anglesea is situated between Torquay and Lorne and is an easy 90 minutes drive from Melbourne and 50 minutes from Avalon Airport. The town features  glorious patrolled surf and swimming beaches and is surrounded by  serene forest. Attractive parks and gardens line the coastal foreshore and the Anglesea River, with Coogoorah Park at the end of River Reserve Road featuring a network of islands linked by boardwalks and bridges through wetlands.

The Holiday Park offers a range of accommodation choices. Suites are available for couples and families offering  LCD television with DVD player and some with Foxtel. The couple suites offer a double shower and kitchenette whilst the family accommodation features a full ensuite and a fully equipped kitchen. All king and queen beds have electric blankets and all beds are prepared for you with linen, doonas and towels.  Also on offer are powered, grassed tourist sites close to the family bathrooms for caravans, tents and mobile home units. Laundry and BBQ facilities are also available as is wireless internet access. The Park is only a short stroll to the beach, shops, restaurants and the river.

The kids will be kept busy playing on the huge Jumping Pillow (similar to a jump castle), swimming in the ‘underwater’ themed heated indoor pool and playing in the Toddler and Adventure playrooms.  The whole family can enjoy a game of tennis or basketball on the Park’s courts and spend a fun evening playing the free board games or a game of table tennis. Free DVD hire and bike hire is also on offer as are additional children’s activities and movies during school holidays.

Owned and operated by Peter and Kathie Bone and their son Tim Bone for more than 23 years this BIG4 association Holiday Park received a Green Globe 21 rating, an international environmental benchmarking system for observance of ‘green’ practices in 2005 (updated in 2009), making it the first Holiday Park in Australia to be recognised to such a standard. Wildlife is also abundant on the site. Visitors can be sure to spot a leisurely kangaroo grazing in the Park surrounds.

The BIG4 Anglesea Holiday Park, situated at the gateway to the breathtaking Great Ocean Road, is the ideal place to enjoy the delightful town of Anglesea and all that it has to offer. The myriad facilities and accommodation choices are bound to please even the most discerning road-tripper or holiday-park connoisseur.
