Editor's Choice - Yarriambiack – water through the gum trees

Australia abounds in hidden jewels and Yarriambiack (meaning water through the gum trees) is an Edwardian gem that will absolutely delight you.

This beautiful homestead features rooms with old-style detail such as 14’ pressed steel ceilings, but the owners Paul & Karen have married the old with the new in seamless style.

Set in 6 acres and featuring well-maintained gardens (thanks to bore water), Yarriambiack enjoys glorious bush views and yet is only minutes away from the attractions of Yarrawonga/Mulwala.  First stop should be a relaxing drink or cup of tea on the sweeping verandah, which not only features great views of the gardens and surrounding bush, but is also the ideal place to allow the cares of everyday living to slip away.

The property has a heated, salt water pool, as well as an outdoor therapeutic spa, BBQs and even an outdoor fridge, so you don’t need to go to far to top up that celebratory glass of champagne!

The homestead has three bedrooms, two of which have ensuites and one enjoys a private bathroom with a claw-foot bath.  The rooms are beautifully appointed, air-conditioned and all have wall-mounted LCD TVs.  The guest lounge features those soaring ceilings along with an open log fire, and LCD TV/DVD/CD, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy the unique ambience of Yarriambiack, to say nothing of the sumptuous breakfasts.

There is a games room with a pool table and a table tennis table, as well as a home cinema.

The bushland setting ensures that there is plenty of wildlife to enjoy on the property, and the mighty Murray River is just a 10-minute stroll away whether you want to fish, paddle or just enjoy the bush.  For those with a more adventurous take on life, there are many activities nearby, including joy flights in an open-cockpit ultra light plane.  If you prefer to take things easy, the wineries of Rutherglen are a great alternative to adventure and the local golf courses are justly famous.  Whatever you choose, Paul and Karen will happily arrange your itinerary.

Paul and Karen love taking care of their guests and have every convenience to ensure you will have a great stay.
