Lawson Lodge

The Macedon Ranges in Victoria are beautiful, iconic and known as the home of the famous and mysterious Hanging Rock. The region abounds with wineries, gourmet food providores, picturesque hamlets and stunning scenery that will stir your senses. It is definitely something out of the ordinary – and the perfect place to visit if you are looking for accommodation that is out of the ordinary too.

Lawson Lodge is unusual… it’s like a holiday house, but not quite; a resort – but far more intimate; a boutique hotel – but far more personal; a B&B – but you know everyone staying there. In fact Lawson Lodge is all of these things, and more, and when you book the retreat, you can be sure that only your group will be in residence. As the property specialises in group bookings you can be sure that your every need will be looked after.

It is a gorgeous Canadian-style mountain lodge, with wonderful gardens, superlative views and all the facilities that you could possibly want. Situated on over 50 acres of rolling hills, with its own 9-hole golf course and commanding views of Mt Macedon and the surrounding national park, Lawson Lodge is the perfect retreat for a golf weekend with friends, a family reunion, a team building exercise or conference or even an intimate wedding.

There are eight rooms, comprising five rooms with queen-size beds, two with king-size beds (or king singles) and one loft, with a queen-size bed and four singles in a separate room; making twenty the total number of possible guests. And there is plenty of space to accommodate this number, with three living and dining areas, four bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen – perfect for those who choose to self-cater, and old-style features like fireplaces, which sit alongside modern comforts such as air-conditioning and central heating.

Once you are there, you are spoiled for choice! Play a round on the beautiful 9-hole golf course, have a few sets of tennis or relax completely and indulge in a massage and some downtime in the spa. Make use of the fishing equipment provided and try your luck in the lake, home to trout and redfin. Hungry for more action? How about basketball, archery, petanque, bushwalking tracks, and the glorious grounds themselves, just waiting to be explored.

Venture outside Lawson Lodge and discover what has made the region one of the most popular in Victoria. Only 40 minutes from Melbourne CBD yet a world away… the region abounds in wineries, markets, cafes, galleries, open gardens and all the rugged beauty of the Macedon Ranges.

After a day out and about, return to the lodge and relax with a drink in the Sports Bar, packed with sporting memorabilia and with a billiard table to help you while away the hours over a friendly game or two. If you are looking for a quiet way to relax and unwind, then the 37-seat cinema may be the perfect spot for you.

Whatever you are looking for when it comes to planning an escape, with friends, family or work colleagues, Lawson Lodge has all the boxes ticked.
