Review - Cheviot Glen

Cheviot Glen Cottages
Limestone Rd, Yea, Victoria

Immerse yourself in rural tranquillity at Cheviot Glen!

Cheviot Glen has two self-contained cottages right in the heart of its 430 acre grazing property, near Yea. We were impressed by the beautiful scenery as we drove up the winding driveway past a magnificent gum tree and the dam. We stopped to pick up the keys at the owner’s house and she took us the short distance to the cottage, where we could park right outside.

Overall rating: Excellent

What makes Cheviot Glen different?
The best thing about Cheviot Glen is that it combines perfect tranquillity with its farm setting amongst beautiful scenery, with the convenience of being only minutes from the township of Yea and all its amenities, and close to several wineries.

Accommodation overview
Each cottage has one bedroom with a queen-sized bed and ensuite with spa bath for two people. Additional people can be accommodated on a futon in the lounge.

Expansive rural views over the countryside can be enjoyed from the large deck which comes complete with tables and chairs. If that’s not enough, the cottage also has a well-kept pretty garden!

Facilities overview
Provisions for a cooked breakfast are supplied, and there is also a small gas barbeque next to the cottage.

A selection of books, magazines, cards and CDs are provided for those wanting to curl up in front of the wood stove heater on chilly nights.

Location
Yea is ninety minutes north-east of Melbourne and can be accessed via the Hume Highway (turn off at Tallarook), the Yarra Valley or Whittlesea. Limestone Rd is off Mansfield Road and is only five minutes from Yea.

Suitable for children?: No
Suitable for pets?: No
Wheelchair access?: There are two stairs to the deck and a small lip on the shower

Perfect for
Cheviot Glen is the perfect base for couples wishing to explore the surrounding area with its wineries/restaurants/scenic drives/Falls and Cascades.  For the energetic, there are interesting walks around the property or, like us, simply enjoy the peace and quiet from the deck of the cottage. Careful not to unwind too much though, you may never leave!

Why you’d stay longer - for more rest, relaxation and romance.

Prices:$100 - $160 per night
