Review - Review – Swissôtel Sydney
By Rachel Power

Recently, we were lucky enough to stay at the Swissôtel Sydney, a five star hotel located right in the heart of the city, walking distance to Darling Harbour, shopping, attractions and the monorail.   We travelled to Sydney for business, however in our line of work, our children are part of our business. It was important to have them with us, yet entertained when we needed, so we chose the Swissôtel Sydney. We booked a Family Package, which included two rooms, a one-bedroom area with meeting space for the adults and the interconnecting room, which was set up as a kid’s paradise!   Swissôtel do a fantastic job with the kids’ room. Bright blue doona covers and adorable brightly coloured toys in the bedroom, to the bright coloured bath mats, ... Read more

Editor's Choice - Sunset Waters
By Lisa Monk

We all love the romance and pampering that comes with a luxury holiday and a high standard of service, facilities and attention to detail is the very least we expect. No wonder then that Sunset Waters won the luxury accommodation category in the 2009 TakeABreak Awards.   It boasts a superlative location on tranquil Macleay Island, which lies half way between the Gold Coast and Brisbane and the views across Moreton Bay to the hinterland beyond are breathtaking.   This luxurious waterfront home features a stylish and thoughtful design, which makes the most of the location, and the vast expanse of floor to ceiling glass is a welcome feature that brings the outside in. The land runs down to the high water mark, so it is waterfront in the true sense of the word and it is easy to s... Read more

Review - Pobblebonk B&B
By Lisa Monk

TakeABreak Best Places to Stay Awards 2009 National Winner Pet-friendly Accommodation: Pobblebonk B&B   The first thing you think of when you hear the name ‘Pobblebonk’ is probably frogs, not dogs – and the property is named after the Eastern Banjo Frog and the distinctive ‘bonking’ call it makes. However, it is four legged creatures of the furry persuasion who are the real winners at Pobblebonk – oh, and their owners, of course! This delightful B&B is the winner of the Pet-friendly category in the 2009 TakeABreak Best Places to Stay Awards for its outstanding dedication to ‘fur children’.   Pobblebonk B&B is a truly pet-friendly property… one that doesn’t just allow dogs, but welcomes them and caters t...
