Mountain views, fishing, sailing and nearby skiing make Talbingo a terrific holiday destination for any time of the year. Despite being a tiny town with a population of less than 300, it is bursting with inspiration. So it isn’t surprising that it was the birth place to one of Australia’s most famous writers, Miles Franklin, who penned My Brilliant Career and All That Swagger in the early 1900s. The spectacular mountain scenery brings out the artist in everyone, so if you have any desire to try your hand at oil or watercolours, don’t forget your easel and brushes. Or you may find yourself wanting to photograph the wild brumbies on your way in, or the many stunning birds of the region with the wonders of Kosciuszko National Park as your backdrop. The ski programs cater to both adults and children, with toddlers as young as 18 months eligible to join the ski school.&n... Read more

Whatever you choose, a holiday to the snow is one that is usually enjoyed just as much by the parents as the children. Ski School Much more fun than real school, ski school will teach children how to ski or snowboard and give you some time out to hit the big slopes (or just the spa!). The instructors will put your children in classes according to age and skill and they will be given all the safety equipment, such as helmets for first timers. Classes can run for a few hours on one single day, but it is probably better to keep the consistency and momentum goin... Read more
