Winter Getaways in Perth

When it’s cold outside there is something quite delicious about retreating indoors to a cosy haven of peace and privacy.

An affordable winter escape is easier than ever with plenty of great value accommodation options within reach of Perth.

To the east is the Swan Valley where log fires, good feeds and warming B&Bs beckon.

Just a 20 minute drive from the city makes this region perfect for a quick getaway.

Spend the day clocking up the clicks ‘doing wineries’ and sample other local fare like cheese, chocolate and beer before returning to your accommodation for a hearty dinner.

Rottnest Island is a great place to visit in winter, especially as the temperature is usually a few degrees warmer than Perth.

No summer crowds, no room ballot system, just snugs rooms with views over the stormy seas and the occasional blue sky day.

Back in Perth, just a short drive up the coast will land you at Hillarys Boat Harbour, home to AQWA and a huge range of shops and restaurants.

The nearby Sorrento Beach Resort is the perfect place to watch those storms roll in and with half price winter romance packages available you can’t go wrong.  Stay two nights in a luxury spa suite including breakfast for two people for just $98 per night.

To the south lies family-friendly Mandurah, where invigorating beach walks, canal boat cruises and green parklands make for an active winter holiday.

There is a range of quality family style accommodation in Mandurah including resorts, B&Bs, caravan parks and eco lodges.

The Mandurah Quay Resort is offering some good value winter specials.  Two bedroom spa apartments perfect for a family of four, are $130 per night.  The resort is situated on the Peel Inlet and is surrounded by bird and kangaroo conservation areas with walking trails.
