Editor's Choice - Sea Magic

What to say about a property where the name says it all?  Perhaps the best place to start is to show why the name of this gorgeous house is so apt.  The Coffs coast is one of nature’s gifts, with superb beaches where pristine water creams over white sand … dolphins and whales cruise past and the rainforest hinterland is only a short trip away.

And in the middle of all this is Sea Magic, a five-bedroom home in a residential area, with sloping lawns that run down to safe and secluded Charlesworth Bay Beach, and ocean views that will leave you breathless.

This house is the perfect getaway for all occasions – just the two of you, the family or a break with friends... the house can cater for it all.  It has a sense of peace and tranquillity that will ensure that your break away from the everyday is one you will remember forever.

The top floor features four bedrooms and a level of luxury that most of us only dream about.  The master bedroom has a king-size bed, and opens out onto a deck where you can enjoy views of the ocean, offshore islands and the mountains. The superbly appointed ensuite bathroom features a two-person spa bath and separate shower, with plenty of room for two people to get ready for a night sampling some of the great restaurants in the area.

The second bedroom also opens onto the main deck and has a queen-sized bed, while the third bedroom has a king-size bed and the fourth a double bed.  The main bathroom on this floor also has a two-person spa bath and a large separate shower.

There is a fifth bedroom downstairs (perfect for teenagers wanting some privacy!), which has a double bed and a large shower with an amazing blue glass wall that makes you feel you are showering underwater.

The owners have thought of everything, and there is a baby’s cot and high chair, along with a single bed, so everyone – large and small – can enjoy the delights of Sea Magic.  There is a fully equipped gourmet kitchen  (with dishwasher!) for those who can’t bear to tear themselves away from this oasis and the living/dining room has an unusual mural painted on the ceiling … a real talking point as you enjoy dinner or one of the many games supplied. Of course, Sea Magic also has Austar, a big screen TV and DVD/CD.

The views from downstairs are also amazing and really this house takes advantage of its location like few others.  Imagine yourself sipping champagne under the stars as you laze in the six-person outdoor heated spa – once again gazing upon the vista of the ocean before you.

Sea Magic has a double lock-up garage; plenty of street parking, a snooker table in the garage and a washing machine, dryer and clothesline to keep the beach towels clean!  It is also fully air-conditioned – ensuring your comfort year-round.

Coffs Harbour is a town that has really come of age in recent years and has some wonderful restaurants and shops, catering to all tastes.  There is an art gallery with a program of exhibitions that changes every couple of months and a museum featuring historical items from the Coffs region.  The hinterland complements the coastal lifestyle of the city and offers 4WD tours, beautiful bush walking tracks and tranquil waterways to enjoy from a canoe, or a picnic on the banks.

A number of small villages abound in the hinterland and each one has its own flavour and personality, and the drive out through the rainforest is a treat not to be missed.

And – of course – we can’t talk about Coffs Harbour without mentioning the iconic “Big Banana”, Australia’s first “big” thing!

So Coffs Harbour is truly an area that has something for everyone … a cosmopolitan and contemporary town, historic villages, wilderness trails – and Sea Magic is the ideal kicking off point for a holiday that will have you coming back for more year after year.
