  • Relax by the fire - Abeona Cottage
  • Abeona Cottage
  • View from the cottage

13 Para Street
Port Lincoln (Eyre Peninsula) SA

This lovely B&B is only a moment from the water’s edge, and is ideal for a peaceful and relaxing break away, or as a base for the business traveller.

Overall rating?    Great

What makes Abeona Cottage different?
This is a quaint and charming B&B, that is clean, well-equipped and well located to make the most of the attractions of the area. Named after captain Hawson's sailing ship, which brought the first settlers to Port Lincoln in 1839, and built soon after, Abeona Cottage has been lovingly renovated.

Accommodation overview
There is a main room with a queen-size bed, a lounge and kitchen area and an additional bedroom with a double bed.  There is a lovely fireplace – ideal for curling up beside with a book or glass of wine.  The B&B is charmingly decorated.

Facilities overview
There were breakfast provisions in the kitchen, along with a microwave and kettle.  The B&B is serviced daily, making it ideal for business travellers.  The fire is fabulous in winter, however the cottage also enjoys a reverse-cycle split system air conditioner.  There is a large TV, along with DVD/VCR/CD.  The hosts speak both French and German.

Location
On the Eyre Peninsula, one hour by plane from Adelaide, the cottage is only 5 minutes from the centre of the town and a 15 minute drive from the marina.  It is on the main road from the airport into the city.

Suitable for children?    Yes, 12 years and over only

Suitable for pets?           No

Wheelchair access?       No, stairs to the front door

Perfect for?
Great for couples, or families up to 4, it is a great base from which to explore the magnificent Eyre Peninsula.  I loved swimming with the sea lions, tuna and sharks.

Why stay longer?
The convenience of the location, and the friendly host, reading by the fireplace and to enjoy well-priced self-contained accommodation.  It is a real bonus to have kitchen facilities in a B&B.

Why you wouldn’t stay longer?
You may find having the double bed in the main room to be limiting.
