Best romantic getaway: Rosie’s Run Boat and Breakfast, South Australia

Rosie’s Run Boat and Breakfast is a unique ‘floating’ federation-style cottage, perfect for a truly romantic getaway. The lovingly-run property is located in the gorgeous river town of Berri in the heart of the Riverland in South Australia.  The panoramic views from every room and an abundance of little extras will make a romantic getaway here one you won’t forget.

The charming town of Berri is located on the banks of the Murray River in the heart of South Australia’s Riverland. One the finest towns in South Australia, it is 240 km from Adelaide by road and 525km by river from the lake entrance below Wellington. Berri is surrounded by over 3000 hectares of irrigated orchards and is notable as a fruit processing town, with a large percentage of nation’s canned fruit and juice coming from Berri.

Rosies’ Run Boat and Breakfast has an ideal location on the banks of the river, which allows for an array of activities to occupy your time. Fishing, swimming, kayaking and scenic walks can all be enjoyed just moments from your front door (with fishing and kayaking gear supplied at no extra cost.)

It is just a ten minute stroll into the heart of the township where you can enjoy a meal out, wander around the shops or the Saturday morning markets. The property’s owner Pam has a proud history of spoiling her visitors, with an outstanding 100% 5 out of 5 record in TakeABreak’s guest comments. She has been known to surprise and thoroughly spoil her visitors on the occasion of their anniversaries, honeymoons or birthdays and is happy to cater to special requests. Parking is available on the front lawn, a boat ramp by the side and a kangaroo sanctuary just out the front window. There are lots of lovely touches like fluffy bathrobes, an electric log fire, air-conditioning and supplied books and CDs to make sure you feel at home. Ample breakfast provisions are provided, allowing you to whip up a hearty breakfast that is to be enjoyed as you survey the stunning views.

Rosie’s Run Boat and Breakfast is a worthy winner of TakeABreak 2008 National Award for best romantic getaway and its outstanding guest comments are a testament to its high level of excellence. A superb combination of location and great hospitality make this property the ideal choice for your next long-deserved romantic getaway.
