What makes Castaway Holiday Apartments different?

There is a variety of different accommodation available, so you are sure to find something that meets your needs whether you are travelling as a couple, a family or a group.

Accommodation overview

Our self-contained apartment had two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with two single beds.  All linen is supplied, and there are electric blankets to help you cope with the chill of a Tasmanian winter.

There are hair-dryers in the bathrooms.  Portacots and high chairs are available, as are folding beds which can be set up in the lounge-room.

Our room was wheelchair accessible with access to the bathroom and plenty of circulation space inside.  Reception is not accessible by wheelchair.

Facilities overview

There is a shared guest laundry and barbecue, and the rooms have DVD players.  DVDs can be hired from the local shop.  Toys, books and games can also be loaned out from reception.  Reception will gladly book tours such as the cruise on the Gordon River for you.

Location

Centrally located, just a 5 minute walk from the centre of Strahan, (although it is a bit out of wheelchair range), and there are shops and petrol available even closer, at the end of the street,

Strahan is about 4.5 hours from Hobart along the A10 to Queenstown, then the B24 to Strahan.  From the north, take the A10 via Zeehan.

Suitable for children?  Yes

Suitable for pets?        No

Wheelchair access?    Yes

Why you wouldn’t stay longer?

You are looking for some nightlife and bright lights!
