Review – Howards Hill
101 Curzon Road, Boneo
Cape Schanck  VIC

Howards Hill B&B is the perfect place for the perfect break, and has something to suit almost everyone.  From the moment you arrive you will be filled with the serenity of the location in glorious Cape Schanck and the property is set in 30 acres amongst ancient grass trees and manna gums.

Overall rating?
Outstanding

What makes Howards Hill different?
This is a property that offers so much… it is a farm stay, a B&B, has a self-contained barn and of course, the stables.  If you love horses, this is the place for you.  If you love gorgeous surrounds, this is the place for you.  If you love a place that lets you ‘feel the serenity’ - this is the place for you.

Accommodation overview
This flexible property has three rooms, an upstairs ‘retreat’ with queen-size bed (and pull-out if required), and also has a seating area.  In ‘The Stables’ one room has a king-size bed, which converts to twins, and the other has twin beds.  The property can sleep 8 people in the three rooms.

Facilities overview
The upstairs adults retreat has a verandah, perfect for gazing over the rural surrounds, there is a footed bath, which begs for a soak with candles and a glass or wine, as well as a large shower.  There are lots of things to keep the kids happy, including table tennis, foos ball, TV/DVD/CD… and of course the grounds, which are perfect for running around and exploring.  There are bikes provided for guests and a great outdoor BBQ area.

Location
Approximately one hour from the Melbourne CBD via the freeway, but miles away from the hustle and bustle of urban life.  The operator supplied excellent directions, so the property is easy to find.

Suitable for children?
Definitely

Suitable for pets?
Yes, dogs can run around outdoors and are also allowed inside (downstairs only).

Wheelchair access?
Possible on the lower level, check for your requirements

Perfect for?
Families, extended families, couples, groups, intimate functions … anyone who wants to enjoy the beautiful bush surrounds.  There is a wonderful ambience to Howards Hill B&B and the clean air alone is worth a visit.

Why stay longer?
To wake up to birds singing, enjoy the sensation of being in the country, being around a property that has horses (great for a horse-mad person like me!), and to enjoy a barn conversion into a wonderful, welcoming home.  There are so many activities in the surrounding area, including wine tasting, bush walking, a great maze … and that is just the start!

Why you wouldn’t stay longer?
Other than having to return to work, I can’t think of a reason you wouldn’t want to stay longer.

Pricing
From $150-220 per couple per night, with a one night minimum – but you will want to stay longer!  Check the listing for current pricing.
