What makes The British different?
The apartment complex was once The British Hotel (c 1905) and is laden with character. It is so close to the CBD, and gives you the chance to shop and cook, and not spend a lot of money eating out all the time. It has a friendly feeling and is exceptionally clean.
Accommodation overview
There are 16 studio and one bedroom apartments, all with modern furnishings and great kitchens. Mine was a studio, with a bathroom, kitchenette and living area.
Facilities overview
Trams stop at the front door, and it is a short walk to shops and banks. The service is excellent and nothing is too much trouble. The apartments have TV/DVD, the sleek kitchens are fully equipped and include microwave, fridge and dishwasher. Most apartments also have a queen-size sofa bed. They have air-conditioning and heating, as well as internet access.
